The Flexible Stem Magnetic Base B is typically used for metalworking and other projects where machinery is used. The vertical post and rod in the magnetic base is connected by swiveling snugs or connectors, which allows free motion of the arm so that the dial indicator can be easily moved into position on the workpiece. When the base is on, the iron acts as an extension of the magnet. When the base is off, the magnet acts as a keeper, preventing the magnetic field from extending through the base. Magnetic bases makes setting up workpieces in various types of machinery much easier.
