strong magnet, strong magnets, rare earth magnets
The term "strong magnet" is used most frequently to describe rare earth magnets, which are the strongest permanent magnets available.
Electromagnets and other types of magnets are also available in varying strengths. But when only the most powerful and reliable solutions are needed for industrial applications, rare earth magnets should be the first choice when a strong magnet is required.
Developed in the 1970s and 80s, these strong magnets are substantially stronger than ceramic or Alnico magnets.
Types of Rare Earth Magnet
Adams offers two types of strong rare earth magnets: Neodymium and samarium cobalt. Of these, Neodymium is the most commonly used. While usually small in size, these magnets have a high energy, and an extremely high resistance to demagnetization.
These strong magnets are used for the following applications:
•DC and servo motors
•Linear actuators
•Magnetic separators
•Speakers
•Microphone assemblies
•Sensors
•High performance motors
•Holding devices
•Closure devices
